About this directory
What this directory is
Puchong Cafe is an independent directory covering 280 cafe businesses in Puchong, the town in Selangor known for its dense mix of kopitiams, hawker courts, and newer specialty coffee spots. It exists for one plain reason: to help people nearby, or planning a visit, figure out which cafes are worth their time without wading through scattered posts and outdated listings. If you want a quick, honest read on where to get a decent flat white or a plate of kaya toast near you, this is built for that.
We are not a review platform and we do not ask anyone to leave reviews here. We are a directory that organizes public information and points you to the primary source when you want more.
How listings get here
Every cafe on this site starts from public business data: name, address, hours, contact details, and category. We then synthesise recent Google reviews to understand what customers are actually saying about a place, things like consistency, service speed, seating, or noise levels. We do not copy or republish review text. Instead, we summarise the pattern and link out to the business’s Google listing so you can read the original reviews yourself before deciding.
How rankings work
Rankings are earned, not sold. Every cafe is scored against a published rubric that weighs factors like review sentiment, consistency over time, and how complete and current the business data is. There is no manual thumb on the scale for who “deserves” a higher spot. The full breakdown of how scoring works is on our /methodology/ page, and it applies the same way to every listing in Puchong.
Sponsorship, clearly separated
Some pages may include sponsored placements. These are always labelled “Sponsored,” displayed in a separate section from the earned ranking, and never factored into a business’s score or position. A cafe cannot buy its way up the list. Sponsorship pays for visibility, not rank.
What a business can and can’t change
A listed cafe can flag and correct factual details, wrong phone numbers, outdated hours, a moved address. What no business can do, sponsored or not, is edit its own score, sentiment summary, or ranking. Those come only from the data and the rubric.
Who runs this
Puchong Cafe is published by Foody Media. The site’s rankings and editorial direction are maintained by Sarah, a food blogger who has covered the Klang Valley cafe scene since 2015 and oversees how listings are scored and reviewed. Data across the directory is refreshed monthly, and each listing shows a “last verified” stamp so you can see it isn’t sitting untouched.
Questions, corrections, or sponsorship enquiries can go to hi@puchongcafe.my.

Puchong has grown fast, and its cafe scene changes with it. New spots open, old favourites shut, and hours shift around festivals and renovations. Keeping the directory monthly-fresh is how we try to keep pace with that.
